Our first call for the guest who wants the true old-Mayfair register — Hélène Darroze on the ground floor, the finest martini in London upstairs, and a general manager who will remember your father.

02Brook Street, Mayfair
Claridge's
The address for arrival in London. Art Deco bones, a small army of doormen who have worked there for decades, and — through us — access to the Royal Suite when it is not otherwise held.

03Knightsbridge
The Berkeley
The quieter of the great London houses. Best rooftop pool in the city, Marcus Wareing in the dining room, and a spa that we open early for our guests before Harrods opens its doors.

The Lanesborough
The only London hotel with a 24-hour butler on every floor. For guests who wish to travel with staff not their own, and who value the discretion of a single-entrance address.

The newest of the great houses, and — quietly — the best-run. A helipad we have used, the finest hotel gym in Europe, and views across Wellington Arch that no other property can offer.

A new Rosewood address in the quiet of the City, where the lobby feels like a private residence and the rooms are composed with the same restraint as a collector's apartment.

Doors that do not, ordinarily, open.
Every experience below is composed for a single party. Access is arranged privately, and availability depends on the house, the season, and the relationship we hold with the keeper.

The National Gallery, after hours
For two to six · By private curator
The doors are closed for the evening at six. At seven, we arrive at a side entrance in Trafalgar Square. A senior curator walks your party through a single wing — often the Sainsbury — with the lights raised on the works chosen for your interest. Champagne is served in the room. No other party is present.

A private dinner at a Mayfair residence
For up to fourteen · Twice-yearly
A former royal chef prepares a ten-course tasting menu in a private townhouse we hold access to on a Georgian square. The silver is the family's. Wines are chosen by a Master of Wine the week before. No signage, no staff other than the household.

The King's Racecourse box, Ascot week
For two to eight · June only
A box in the Royal Enclosure with a full carriage transfer, the appropriate dress arranged, and lunch prepared by a Michelin-starred kitchen. We take three engagements in Royal Week; the rest of the season is closed.

A morning at Savile Row, by appointment
For the traveller who wears a suit
A private morning with the head cutter at one of two houses on the Row we work with. A first fitting, coffee taken in the boardroom, and — for those who commission — delivery to your suite in three cities of your choosing.

Westminster Abbey, opened privately
For four to twelve · Rare
We compose, twice a year, a private evening tour of the Abbey guided by a canon of the chapter. Choral music is arranged in the Lady Chapel. This is the single most-requested experience we hold — and the hardest to grant.

A representative sketch for five days in London. Every hour is reconsidered for the party we serve — but the register of possibilities does not change.

Farnborough to Mayfair by discreet transfer
- 14:00Meet-and-greet on the tarmac at Farnborough or Northolt; luggage handled separately.
- 15:00Chauffeured Bentley to the hotel. Check-in has already occurred; suite is ready at your name.
- 17:00Afternoon tea in the suite; a fitting for a bespoke shirt with a Jermyn Street shirtmaker who calls to you.
- 20:30Supper at a private members' club in St James's — a table for two, held on our card.
- Day TwoThe city, quietly
The V&A opened before the doors, then a private cellar
- 08:30The V&A jewellery rooms opened one hour before public admission; senior curator in attendance.
- 12:30Lunch at a chef's counter that seats eight — we hold two seats each Friday of the year.
- 16:00A private cellar tasting on Berry Bros. & Rudd's principal floor, hosted by a Master of Wine.
- 20:00Dinner at a two-Michelin-starred house; the corner table on the first floor is ours.
- Day ThreeBy helicopter
Battersea to a country estate for lunch, and back for the theatre
- 10:00Battersea Heliport to a working estate in the western Cotswolds; twenty-five minutes' flight.
- 11:30A short walk with the head gardener; lunch in the orangery, prepared by the estate's kitchen.
- 15:00Return by air; a private tour of the artist's studio at Somerset House at dusk.
- 19:30The Royal Box at Covent Garden. Champagne at the interval, arranged by the House.
- Day FourBehind the doors
Buckingham Palace's Royal Mews, and the Wallace Collection alone
- 09:30A private tour of the Royal Mews — the state carriages and the horses — with a member of the Royal Household.
- 13:00Lunch at a restaurant that does not take reservations; a table is held.
- 15:30The Wallace Collection, closed to the public for ninety minutes; the Great Gallery to yourselves.
- 20:00A ten-course supper in the wine cellar of a private Georgian townhouse we hold access to.
- Day FiveDeparture
A morning walk in Green Park, and onward
- 09:00Breakfast in the suite; a walk through Green Park with a historian who knows every bench.
- 11:30A final visit to a bookbinder in Bloomsbury we have introduced you to.
- 14:00Chauffeured departure to Farnborough, or onward by rail to Edinburgh in a private carriage.
N° 05 — Insider Notes
What the concierge won't tell you.
A short ledger of the things we know because we work here. Passed to every guest we compose a London journey for — usually in the first conversation, before the itinerary is drafted.

Never take tea at the hotel your first afternoon
You will be tired and it will be wasted. Take it on day two, at 3.45 pm, at Fortnum's — the Diamond Jubilee Salon, second floor, the corner table nearest the window. We hold it.

The best table in London is not in a restaurant
It is in the private dining room at 5 Hertford Street. We can seat you there. We can also introduce you to the chef, if the conversation calls for it.

Book your black cab, not an Uber
For the drive through Hyde Park at dusk, take a licensed black cab. The Knowledge is not a marketing story — a cabbie will pull off the main road for a view you didn't know to ask for.

The V&A on a Friday evening, and only a Friday
The main galleries stay open until ten. The crowds are gone by seven. Take a glass of champagne in the Cafe, then the jewellery rooms in silence. This is worth arranging around.

Never trust a river cruise
Except one. A single Dutch barge we charter privately, from Chelsea to Greenwich, with lunch prepared onboard by a chef we introduced to the boat's owner. Runs April to September.
N° 06 — For the Family
Journeys the children
will remember as adults.
A separate folio for families travelling with children — from four to fourteen, and the older ones who still call themselves so. Rigorously composed, quietly playful, and never once described as an "activity".
- 01A private morning at the Natural History Museum before the school groups arrive — a palaeontologist as your guide.
- 02A day at a Cotswolds farm-in-full: the children help with the sheep at first light, lunch in the farmhouse kitchen.
- 03Hogwarts Express by private carriage on the Jacobite Steam Train, with cream teas laid on for the crossing of Glenfinnan.
- 04A quiet afternoon at Fortnum's chocolate room — the head chocolatier hands the older ones the tempering spatula.
- 05For the teenager who wants none of it: a photographer's walk through Shoreditch, ending at the darkroom, prints made by them.
N° 07 — Beyond London
And onward, by helicopter or by rail.
